What I Learned in 2024 and What I’m Looking Forward to in 2025

As we find ourselves in the quiet space between Christmas and the New Year, I can’t help but reflect on the journey that 2024 has been. This time of year always feels like a natural pause, a moment to look back with gratitude and look forward with hope. It’s also a time to reset, to think deeply about what we want to carry into the next chapter of our lives and, just as importantly, what we want to leave behind.

This year, the word “De” has been a powerful guide for me:

·   De-cember

·   De-clutter

·   De-tach

·   De-lete

Anything that de-values your life, holds you back from fulfilling your dreams, or limits your potential—don’t bring it into 2025. This practice has been transformative for me, and I hope it can be for you, too.

Reflections on 2024

As I reflect on the past 12 months, I’ve been asking myself these questions:

  1. What am I doing now that was only a vision or a thought last year?
  2. What is a big internal shift that improved my life this year?
  3. What am I letting go of this year?
  4. How did I nurture my mind, body, and spirit?
  5. Who did I positively impact this year?
  6. Which moments brought me true joy or connection?
  7. What challenge or failure taught me the most?

For me, one of the biggest lessons of 2024 has been about communication—especially when it comes to difficult conversations. Whether in personal or professional life, these moments are what move the needle forward. Staying silent may keep the peace temporarily, but it often leads to higher costs in the long run: dissatisfaction, stagnation, and missed opportunities. Taking action, learning quickly, and being willing to pivot have made all the difference.

I’ve also learned not to take life too seriously. It’s shorter than we think, and laughter truly is the best medicine. Sagar and I can have healthy disagreements on almost anything, and yet, we always find a way to laugh at ourselves and strengthen our bond. It’s a reminder that even through challenges, connection and joy are possible.

Another lesson that stood out this year is the importance of integrity. Making decisions with the intention of doing the right thing might make you unpopular in the short term, but it’s a foundation for long-term respect—from others and, most importantly, from yourself. Walking through life with your head held high is a gift no one can take away.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As I think about the year ahead, there are a few lessons I’m committed to working on:

  • Be unapologetic about putting yourself first. When we prioritize our own happiness, we naturally make the world brighter for those around us.
  • Expand and grow. The only limitations we have are the ones we place on ourselves.
  • Make gratitude a way of life. It’s easy to focus on what we lack, but what we focus on expands. When we center our attention on what we’re grateful for, life feels truly magical.

Gratitude for 2024

I’m so grateful for a healthy and happy 2024—for the lessons I’ve learned, the opportunities that have come my way, and for all of you who enrich my life.

As we step into 2025, my wish for all of us is simple: joy, health, clarity, and purpose.

Cheers to a bright and beautiful year ahead.
